Hi Paul, In case this helps I’ve managed to remove this malware by first of all installing Malwarebytes free software and performing a scan, then I went into Add/Remove programs and clicked the offending entry, when it asked for a code I simply copied the code in the prompt screen and voila, It seems to have done the trick.

Abusive emails do no good. I can’t do anything about this advertising malware.

As I say above, this irritating malware is NOTHING to do with me. Some swine has taken the name of a legitimate website and is causing trouble for you and me. If it is somebody’s sick idea of a joke, we both know that it is not funny.

If you read the comments above, I give links to things that may help. No guarantees as
a) I’ve never seen the offending program – and nor do I want to as it will just make me even madder.
b) I’ve no idea where it is coming from
c) I’ve not had to try any of the methods to get rid of it.
d) I haven’t got a clue what the password is to remove it or even whether it is really required

All I can do is to make sure that it’s not coming from my own website – which can happen when hackers get involved – and I do that by paying Securi to monitor my website and scan it a number of times each day and it alerts me if something has gone wrong.

I have found this on my computer and am not in the least bit interested. I did not knowingly install it and wish to remove it. I cannot without a password. Please advise. I repeat that I do not want it on my computer

It first seemed to appear in July 2010

although it has only recently come to my attention as the problem has spread in February 2011.

It has come to my attention that there is a malware advertising program claiming to present “ad served up by your profit club”.

This has nothing to do with me. Some malicious idiot is using the name of a legitimate site for their own purposes.

If you think about it, I wouldn’t want an irritating advertising pop up to damage the goodwill I’ve built up with members.

My site is not infected and I have installed Securi to monitor the site. You can see the logo at the bottom of the page before the comments. this lets you click on it and see the latest independent assessment.
